Top Ten Tuesday, as always, is hosted over at Broke & Bookish.
Wow, I have not been doing these for a while. I’m not even sure why. I suppose the “honeymoon” phase of having a book blog ended and I was getting very distracted and not a lot of ambition to sit down and blog everyday.
This weeks feature is “Top 10 authors I own the most books of”
I really don’t think that this is the best list for me because I tend to buy only a few books from an author unless I really love them. I also may buy tons of books from an author and then end up only reading a few of the books. To keep this somewhat fair (more on me than my books) I’m going to count ONLY the books I have here with me at the boyfriend’s house. I have more books at my house but I can’t remember all of them and it’s easier to count the books I have in front of me.
- With TWENTY books, I have James Patterson topping the list
- With ELEVEN books, I have Janet Evanovich coming in at second
- With SIX books, I have Sue Grafton coming in at third
- With THREE books, I have Jennifer Weiner coming in at fourth
- With THREE books, I have Jodi Picoult coming in at fifth
- With THREE books, I have Karin Slaughter coming in at sixth
- With TWO books, I have Sophie Kinsella coming in at seventh
- With TWO books, I have JD Robb coming in at eighth
- With TWO books, I have David Baldacci coming in at ninth
- With TWO books, I have Linda Castillo round out the bottom
James Patterson- can you tell I’m a fan? I know I have more at my house, but I didn’t add them to the list. I have most of the Alex Cross books, most of the Women’s Murder Club books, and some Michael Bennett books.
Janet Evanovich- As with Patterson, I have some more at my house. I’m also getting more for my birthday in September. She’s my favourite author and am going to start branching out from the Stephanie Plum series as well.
Sue Grafton- I have most of the ABC series, but many of them are at my house. (This is a recurring theme.) I only read one of these books about once every two months but she is a great author.
Jennifer Weiner- I’ve actually only read one of these books. I’ve bought all of the books over the last few months but the library gets in the way of reading any of the books I own so these books are sitting in my dresser (yes I’m using a dresser as a bookshelf right now) waiting to be read,
Jodi Picoult- I have one other book of hers at my house and coincidentally, that’s the only one I’ve actually read. I want to read Picoult’s other books because I’ve heard such good things about them but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Karin Slaughter- If you want to count my ARC of Cop Town, then I have four of her books. And Cop Town is the only one I’ve read. I tried to read Fractured a few months ago, but I was not in the mood for it so I set it aside and have yet to pick it up again. I’ve heard good things about her books, and Cop Town was one of my favourites, so I’m excited to read her other books.
Sophie Kinsella- The Shopaholic series is just the type of book I read if I’m in a book slump. They are cute and fun and bring me back to reading. I’m currently reading Confessions of a Shopaholic and am loving it so far. I haven’t yet read the other book I own by her.
JD Robb- I haven’t read either of the books I’ve read. (I’m the worst, I know.) She seems to get good reviews in both her In Death series and her romance books and I’m hoping to read the first book in the In Death series soon, as well as one of her romance books.
David Baldacci- To be completely honest, when I bought these books, it was because I’ve heard the name and I had money to spend. I have nothing against David Baldacci and I’ll most likely read these two books but I haven’t found the desire to do it yet.
Linda Castillo- In high school, the first two mystery books I ever read were by Linda Castillo. I decided to buy the series and read it again. I’ve only bought the first two and can’t wait to read them again.
Do you have any of these authors in your top ten?
