Book: Losing Hope
Author: Colleen Hoover
Started: July 15
Finished: July 17
Synopsis: In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery. Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.
I made the synopsis extremely vague because the rest of it practically give away the big plot twist of Hopeless. I was debating on if I should even write a review for this book since it literally cannot be read before Hopeless and shouldn’t be read without reading Hopeless. I never wrote a review for Hopeless because I could not find the words to do it. Maybe if I read it again I will find them, but I couldn’t and still can’t.
Losing Hope is the second book in the Hopeless series by Colleen Hoover. A lot of people are ignoring this book because it’s basically the same as Hopeless but from Dean Holder’s perspective. Those people would be wrong though. This book starts out pre-Sky and gives us some much needed answers that we did not get from Hopeless. This book also extends further than Hopeless did that also answers questions that I, and probably others, had from Hopeless.
I actually gave this book a better rating than I gave Hopeless because it answered my questions and didn’t leave me hanging. Hopeless didn’t either but there were questions that I didn’t have answered that really bothered me.
I feel like I can’t talk about this book much because I don’t want to give anything away. The characters were great. The book made me bawl my eyes out. It made me extremely happy as well. I may or may not have had the urge to write fanfiction about Sky and Holder. (Okay, I totally wanted to.) Sky and Holder are two characters that will stick with me for a very long time.
The writing is fantastic. This was my third Colleen Hoover book so I already knew that she was a great writer, but this one was just unbelievable. I was sucked in from the very beginning and it took a while to get sucked out. I will be returning to this series, without a doubt.
Overall, I love this book with my whole heart and want everyone else to read it as well. BUT READ HOPELESS FIRST. If I say that one more time I will just get it tattooed on my forehead.
Colleen Hoover has quickly become one of my auto-buy authors.
