#ThirstyThursday is a new installment where I sit down with a cup of coffee and talk all things books! Feel free to leave comments on what you’d like to see here as well.
Read-a-thons, yay or nay?
How do you decide to do a read-a-thon? What draws you to them? What makes you not want to do them, if you don’t do them?
I’ve done three read-a-thons this year and plan on doing more as well. They are my newest addiction. I love having a week to focus solely on reading and they really help me get out of reading slumps. The current one is FIFTEEN DAYS. Fifteen awesome days of reading and talking about books with other book lovers. I like this current read-a-thon because it’s not stressful. There aren’t a lot of planned things going on that we have to remember what time it is and show up at the right time. That’s okay for other people, but I tend to sleep right through planned events. This read-a-thon is basically like free time in school where we know what we should be doing but we don’t have to be doing it if we don’t want to.
Sarah aka treesofreverie, is the mastermind behind this read-a-thon. You don’t have to have a Tumblr to join in on the fun, just a social media platform where you can share what you are reading, your thoughts, and talk to other readers. It’s not too late to participate! (who knew I could rhyme?) but unfortunately it is too late to be an official participant, but there is another read-a-thon happening next month that everyone should join. I will make another post about it closer to then and post more links with more information.
Are you doing the read-a-thon with us? Have you done any this year? Your favorite one that you have done? Send me your thoughts!
